Week 35

Week 35
So now that we know how much Tank weights (6.1lbs) at 34 weeks, you will have a better guesstimate and comparison. So at week 35 babies are suppose to weight about 5lb 5 oz (size of a honeydew melon) and starting at week 35 babies gain an average of 8-12 ounces a week. (you do the math, I’m too scared). All the weight is FAT. Tank is going to become more restricted in my uterus, so my fetal movements may slowdown, yet become more forceful. I’m still waiting for him to dislocate my right rib with that foot of his. Tanks kidneys are full formed and his liver is beginning to process some waste.  At about 35 weeks Tanks head should be down and stay down (it was at last office visit). I’m still doing ok. The biggest complaint I have at this point is hip pain during sleep, which is really frustrating because all I would like is a full night sleep but instead I turn every hour because my hips are killing me while laying in bed. IF that is all I have to complain about though, I will take it. No nausea, no crazy back pain, no stretch marks, no heartburn, no crazy swelling. All and all I would say I am lucky.

So this week has been fun and busy. We started our birthing classes last week. Kris has been such a trooper. They are teaching us birthing positions, breathing techniques and really having the fathers participate. It was great. On Friday my two best friends threw me the best baby shower.  Tiny and tough was the theme. They had monster trucks and Gi goes placed around. Best of all, was the food. They really listened to me and had all my favorites…including about 2lbs of popcorn flavored Jelly bellies (special ordered), a ton of yummy peanut butter deserts, chicken dinner (that was to die for), and a yummy spinach salad. We played a fun game of “guess what kris answered” I will give you a few examples below.  Best of all was the friendship there. My friends went above and beyond and I am so fortunate for every one!!

We got a tour of the birthing center at Providence….i am very nonplused. The actual labor and delivery room reminds me of a cell. There are no windows, it’s dark, its small. I am already brainstorming some ideas to make it more pleasant. If I were allowed to have epidurals in my own home…there would be no chance in hell that I would deliver there. It is our only option though thanks to insurance. So after L&D you travel up to the 4th floor for mom/baby. Again, small and cramped and because I work in that hospital I know that is also the oncology floor. So lets say, pray for no C-section because I think I would rip my hair out having to stay 72 hours (again, if I’m on pain meds I might not care).

Only 5 more weeks to go. Should go fast….Aunt Kaye and Uncle Todd will be here in two weeks to help occupy the time!

Kris had a real fun time putting together all the baby stuff. He got hot and sweaty and frustrated
Tanks in there somewhere
