We keep reeling them in!! Kris and I enjoyed a nice fishing trip on the Klutina
Kris showing off his sockeyes
According to the books Tank is somewhere between 4-5lbs…he’s
been that way for 5 weeks though so who the heck knows really. He is about the
size of a large cantaloupe and is 17-19 inches long. His main job right now is
to simply put on fat to help regulate his body temperature once he arrives. He
is practicing breathing and maturing his lungs. Realistically if I gave birth
now, everything would be just fine.
So above is what the books say. I had an ultrasound today to
look at if this baby is truly big, big I don’t feel unusually large. At the 20
week ultrasound Tank was in the 90th percentile for weight. Well, he’s
been slacking because he is now only in the 83rd percentile. Which
means that right now tank weighs 6.1 ounces. If he gains, .5lb a week, like the
book suggests, that will mean he be around 9lbs. What we expected right?
The other fun thing about the ultrasound is that we got some
head shots. Now these are 4d reconstructions but my Lord, there is no question
that this is a Honas baby!!!Look at
that profile, that nose, that manly face!! The best news is that he is still
healthy and doing good. He was head down ready to go!!! Nah, another 6 weeks
for me!
As for me, I’m doing pretty good. It’s getting harder to
sleep consistently. I officially can’t lay on my back anymore, Tank is too high
up in my abdomen and he cuts of my blood supply. So it’s side lying for me,
which I’m use to so it isn’t too bad. I flip every 1-2 hours..i just feel bad
for Kris (oh well, guess he’s going to have to get use to being awake every 2
hours). We went fishing this weekend and I had good stamina. It was actually
very relaxing being on the river in decent weather without a ton of mosquitoes.
They have seemed to blossom here this week. I have already received a few looks
of disapproval as I put bug spray on this pregnant body.
The nose says it all, that is Kris's son!!!
