Vegetables

Happy Mid January!! There is not a lot going on in the Honas household, hence why posts are so far in between. This last weekend we watched a lot of football. We were bummed that Seattle lost, so now we are routing for the 49ers. West Coast represent!!

We have been trying new items with Bronson to eat. So far he has had cereal, which was ok to him. He then had bananas, which he really liked. This week we tried zucchini. This was A NO GO. Literally you would give him one bite and he would vomit it right up, along with some nice curdled milk. So at first, I thought that he was still sick and had some post nasal drip and it was just a tickle and coincidence. I am now certain, however, it was not coincidence, it was not because he was sick, he simply does not like zucchini. So I will end up putting all that extra puree I made onto a sandwich for Kris. Seeing that he never reads this blog I know I am safe!

We also bought Kris a Johnny jump up. It was fun to put him in it. He didn't quite get it yet. It did spin him around and he thought that was great. He is getting stronger every day. He can sit up on his own now for a few seconds. He doesn't usually tip to his side but slowly slowly ends up tipping forward until his head is resting on his knees.

The last week he has been waking up at midnight, which is totally off for him. I keep thinking that a tooth will pop out so I can justify him getting up at midnight. Nothing yet.

Upcoming events: Superbowl party and San Fransisco

5 months

Bronson is 5 months old this weekend. He had a fun filled weekend. We watched football playoffs and Seattle won, which he is super happy about and we tried our first semi-solids!! It was fun trying to teach Bronson how to eat from a spoon. He got the concept that food came from the spoon but swallowing was difficult to master. He definitely got more on him than in his tummy but it was fun. Today I was eating eggs with my fork and he was very attentive of where the fork went. I plan on continuing practicing with the rice then moving on to vegetables once he gets the concept of swallowing the food. My ultimate goal is to be able to make his baby food, but we will see.

Bronson has to go to daycare 3 days this week. That is most that he has done yet to date. I am sure we will be dealing with a grumpy kid. I just have to keep telling him I work to pay for his college.

Upcoming....nothing! We are excited that our friends liz and ross will be back in the state soon. They are great with Bronson and he is excited to show them how he rolls over now.

I just love this picture. My baby is happy!!

Xmas break

Well it certainly has been a long fun two weeks. We were fortunate to spend holiday season in Idaho. We flew into Spokane and spent the first part of the trip with My dad and my mom. It was my dads first time meeting Bronson. It was fun. He says he instantly has a special bond with him. I hope that doesn't mean ice cream cones at 8pm in the future. In North Idaho we had Bronson meet his great grandma Laura. She is not well with alzheimers and lives in an assisted living. She did get to smile at the baby though which makes for good memories. In Bonners we spent a day at a hotel so Nana could swim with Bronson. We all had fun. The downfall of that part of the trip is that I didn't get to see all of our family. Next time. Bronson also got to play with BOB. Bronson really liked BOB and giggled and smiled at him everytime he saw him. Not sure if it was the beard or his teddy bear appearance but whatever it was it was right up Bronson's alley. My dad was very nice and drove us to Southern Idaho. We had plans to celebrate his big 60 but road weather intervened and he left early as to be safe. Happy 60th dad!

We spent actual xmas day with Kris's parents and relatives. IT was great fun. Bronson had a super cute santa suit. He didn't much care for opening presents, as he slept through most of it. Next year will be more fun for him. We had him Baptized at the methodist chruch. He cried all through the beginning of the service but when it was his turn to get on stage that boy performed. He smiled and laughed and was happy even while water was being dripped on his head. That boy likes to be the center of attention.

These last two weeks Bronson has grown leaps and bounds. He now rolls over all the time, sleeps on his tummy, and makes an "okay" sign with his fingers. Before we know it he will be crawling all over!

We have learned to relax a little with this trip. Bronson got to sleep with us and we left him with relatives a few times. I have to say that he was an excellent little boy on the flights too. No blowouts, no relentless screaming, and no arguements between kris and I. I could not image a more fun, smooth trip.

We are now home. We both had to work on monday. I think our next trip will be San Francisco in March.
